Weingut Esterhazy Beerenauslese 2018 375ML Demie
Noble rot, patiently courted on the shores of Lake Neusiedl.
Grape Varietals & Region: A blend of Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc and Scheurebe, grown on Esterhazy's 90 hectares west of Lake Neusiedl and on the slopes of the Leitha Mountains, in Austria's Burgenland.
Taste Profile: A rich golden colour with intense aromas of dried apricots, honey and orange peel. Sweet and luscious on the palate, with flavours of honeyed apricot and tropical fruit, balanced by bright acidity.
Winemaking Process: Grapes are left on the vine until fully ripe and beginning to shrivel, allowing botrytis (noble rot) to develop, then hand-harvested and given a slow fermentation. The wine is aged for several months in oak barrels, adding complexity and depth.
Winemaker: Weingut Esterhazy farms across Burgenland's Leithaberg DAC area, drawing on the region's long noble-sweet-wine tradition around Lake Neusiedl to craft botrytis-affected dessert wines like this Beerenauslese alongside its dry whites.
